What to include on a cleaning invoice

Service date and address
When you cleaned and which home — important when one client has more than one property.
Type of clean
Standard, deep, or move-in/move-out, plus the home size you priced it on.
Add-ons
Inside the oven or fridge, windows, laundry, and other extras as separate lines.
Recurring discount
If the client is on a weekly or monthly schedule, show the recurring rate or discount.
Cancellation policy
Your late-cancellation or lockout fee so it is agreed before it ever applies.
Total and due date
Cleaning is usually due on the day of service.

Tips for getting cleaning invoices paid faster

  • List add-ons separately. Clients who see “inside oven — $45” understand the price; a bigger single number invites haggling.
  • State the home size or bed/bath count you priced on, so a surprise extra bathroom does not become a dispute.
  • Put your cancellation and lockout policy on every invoice, not just the first one.
  • For recurring clients, skip the per-visit invoice: have them sign up once for automatic weekly or monthly card billing.

What should a cleaning service invoice include?
Your business name and contact details, the client’s name and service address, an invoice number, the service date, the type of clean, any add-ons with prices, recurring discounts, the total due, when payment is due, and your cancellation policy.
How much should I charge for a house cleaning?
Most cleaners price from the time a job takes multiplied by their hourly rate, adjusted for the type of clean and how often they visit. The free cleaning price calculator estimates hours and price per clean from home size and builds a simple price list you can use.
Is this invoice template really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and nothing to install. The generator runs entirely in your browser — the details you type are not sent to or saved on our servers. Fill it in, then download or print it as many times as you like.
How do I save the invoice as a PDF?
Click “Download / print PDF”. Your browser’s print window opens with only the invoice on the page; choose “Save as PDF” (or “Microsoft Print to PDF”) as the destination to save a file you can email or text to your customer.
Can my customer pay the invoice by card?
A PDF invoice can only ask for payment — your customer still has to mail a check or find another way to pay. With a free Redbud Way account you can send the invoice with a card pay link instead, optionally collect a deposit first, and the money is paid out to your bank about two days after the customer pays. Redbud Way charges a 0% platform fee; standard Stripe card processing fees apply.
